Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is counseling?

Counseling is a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals can openly share their accumulated emotions and pains. It offers clarity, relief, and a renewed sense of hope.

2. Why counseling? Can the counselor solve all my problems?

Counseling offers a safe, supportive environment where the counselor acts as a guide, helping clients explore the root causes of their issues. Rather than directly solving problems, the counselor facilitates a process that enables clients to gain new perspectives and insights. This shift in understanding empowers clients to make informed, meaningful decisions, which ultimately helps them resolve their challenges.

3. What’s the difference between virtual and in-person counseling?

There is not much difference between virtual and in-person counseling; both follow the same process. In virtual counseling, sessions are conducted online, with the counselor providing a link for the client to join at their scheduled time. If there are connectivity or network issues, the session may be rescheduled, or an alternative arrangement will be made to ensure continuity.

4. How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on the client's unique needs and goals. Typically, it may take around 3 to 8 sessions, though more complex issues may require up to 8 or more. Each session schedule is mutually agreed upon, with the counselor recommending follow-up sessions while allowing the client to choose the day and time that best suits them.

5. What is the duration of each session?

Each counseling session typically lasts one hour, though the counselor may extend it by up to 15 minutes for the first two sessions. Clients are encouraged to join on time to ensure a smooth, productive experience. This punctuality allows the counselor to effectively plan activities and prepare any worksheets to be shared at the end of the session. Being on time also respects both the client’s and counselor’s schedules, maintaining a respectful and supportive environment.
